Well ... I am well on the way on the road to recovery. YOU GUYS JUST PLAIN WORE ME OUT!! But I had a great time. So how about a few updates.
Today or tomorrow morning we will have a gallery of Tokyo In Tulsa photos up. Once launched, please take some time to post your own favorite photos to share with the TnT community.
I am overwhelmed by the response by the community to TnT 2008. Last time I checked, well over 60 videos have been posted to youtube.com and the reponse on the forums is heartwarming. Our myspace page is exploding with messages, comments and new friends. I can not wait until TnT 2009. Not ones to rest on our laurels, we have already begun planning for next year.
We are already talking to possible guests and which events we will be hosting next year. Many of this years guests are hyped and want to return for 2009! As we confirm guests, we will keep you posted. Also ... we have a new webmaster coming on board (not just us code hacks that give real webmasters a bad name) who will be doing a complete website redesign. Most of the changes will be "under the hood" but our hope is to better integrate the main site, registration system and forums. We should launch the 2009 website around the first week of Septemeber.
Also, starting next week, I will be returning to my blog space and talking about the process to give birth to a convention... and believe me when I say there are a lot of labor pains. I will un-mystify the process and give pointers to those that wish to start their own convention. DISCLAIMER: I will say this repeatedly during the course of our discussion ... please do not ask me for guest or company contact information. Unfortunely, this information is propriatary and I can get TnT and myself into trouble by giving it out to anyone. I can and will point you in the right direction and pass on any publice information but direct contact phone numbers, addresses and e-mail are given to us with the understanding that it is private.
I want to take this time to thank everyone who made Tokyo In Tulsa 2008 a possiblity ... volunteer, guests, ConCom and most importantly ... you. Without our attendees and friends, there would not be a TnT. Thank You all!! I will be updating again soon ... till then ... HAVE FUN AND ENJOY!

Sorry about the late update ... I made the unfortunate decision to come down with the flu today ... so I have been in a drug induced and orange juice soaked stupor all day today. Feeling a lot better though. Hope it lasts (fingers crossed and knocking on wood). I do have some updates for you.
For those of you who have signed up to volunteer or would like to sign up, we have a mandatory orientation meetings on Thursday, July 31st at 7pm and on Friday August 1st at 9am (you are required to attend at least one of these), at the Crowne Plaza in the Main Events room. You will receive your badge at that time as well as your schedule. We will work around your schedule and the events that you would like to attend as best as we can. Remember, all volunteers are required to work 12 hours to earn your badge. Also, we will have our volunteers "minion" shirts available for purchase. The Tokyo In Tulsa 2008 Minion Shirts will be $15 each for as long as they last.
Our table top gaming has been coming together quite nicely. John Brese, our head of Table Top gaming has arranged for a wide array of game Demos for your gaming pleasures. Table Top gaming will be occuring on both the 2nd and 3rd floors of the hotel (see the gaming schedule for the rooms) and will run for as long into the evening as there is interest. Steve Jackson Games, Fantasy Flight Games, Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition are just a couple games being demoed, as well as Magic the Gathering, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh.
Along with the table top, Jim Trent has put together a Legend Of The Five Rings LARP (live action roleplaying) game. The game will last 2 evenings, Friday and Saturday, with registration beginning at 6pm both evenings. We will also have open gaming tables for those interested in hosting thier own games.
Cash and Prizes are available for many of our hosted games. Entry fees may apply but will not exceed $5.
For those of you wanting to stay at the host hotel, a hand full of rooms are still available for $85 a night. You can call 918-582-9000 to make your reservation. If you are planning all night fun ... we suggest that you request to be on our party floor. If partying till dawn is not your "thing" then please request one of the quiet floors.
Just to clarify, unless stated otherwise, the Video Game Tournaments will be double elimination.
We have an unfortunte announcement. Walden Books has yet to confirm that they will be hosting the Breaking Dawn release party at Tokyo In Tulsa. In case they cancel, as a substitute... we are loading up the vans with everyone who would like to get their copy and traveling to Barnes and Noble for their release party. We have reserved books just for Tokyo In Tulsa Attendees so you will not have to!
TO OUR VENDORS AND ARTISTS
Vendors may begin set up on Thursday at 10am. Please see the Vendor Support Table for badges and tables. The Vendor Support table is located on the second floor in the vendor room. Loading dock doors will be closing at 1pm.
Artist and Exibitors may begin set up at 8am on Friday morning. Please see the Art Bazaar Support and Registration Table for badges and table locations. Art Bazaar Support and Registration is located on the second level in the Tea Rose area. Art Bazaar Tables need to be claimed by 7pm Friday night or arrangments made for when you will be able to claim your tables. Tables not claimed by then will be offered to artists on the Standby List.

July 28th, 2008
Last night was the close of Pre-Registration ... and the beginning of early registration. What is the difference? Early registration receives a "Member" badge instead of a "Pre-Registration" badge. Why do early registration? When you arrive at the convention, you will not have to fill out paperwork or pay (you have already done both from the comfort of your home). Just present your confirmation sheet that was emailed to you and you will be given a badge. You can purchase Weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Gamer badges.
Also, on Thursday July 31st, we will be opening registration from 6pm to 9pm (later if there is a line). You will be able to pick up or purchase "Pre-Registration" Badges, "Member" Badges and "Friday" Day Passes that evening. "Saturday" and "Sunday" Day Passes will only be available on their respective days.
I will have more information about the Table Top Gaming Room, Video Gaming and Schedule posted here within the next 24 hours, so Stay Tuned! As always, have fun and enjoy!

Big News Anime Fans,
FUNimation Entertainment and Geneon Entertainment Sign Exclusive Distribution Agreement for North America. I don't know about you but being off of that proverbial cliffs edge that became Geneon and the future of thier products is a great relief for me. You can check out the entire press release here.
Also, I will be updating the contest pages today along with new and improved Cosplay rules. The current rules are just too confusing and contradictory. I will also be posting the rules for several of the art contests that will be occuring at Tokyo In Tulsa. Will have more updates for you shortly.
