    ANNOUNCING TOKYO IN TULSA

JUNE 18-20, 2010 at the Doubletree Hotel Downtown

2010 is Tokyo In Tulsa’s third year. The original Tokyo In Tulsa began in 2005 as a block party supporting a local anime (Japanese animation) store. The store is long gone but, after a lot of changes and over 2 years of planning, Tokyo In Tulsa launched as a fan based convention in 2008.

In the current economic climate, many fan based conventions have disappeared but Tokyo In Tulsa continues to grow. Tokyo In Tulsa is the largest anime and Japanese culture convention, and one of the largest fan based conventions over all, in Oklahoma.

June 18-20 will be three days of non-stop entertainment. Come join us for informative panels, costumes, video game tournaments, table top games, contests, shopping, music and much more. All in a safe, family friendly environment. The 2010 guest list includes:

    • Australian born voice actor Scott McNeil began his career in 1989 on the show The New Adventures of He-Man. Since then he has voiced Hohenheim in Fullmetal Alchemist, Koga in InuYasha, Hermie the elf in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys, Wolverine in X-Men Evolution, Voltar in The League of Super Evil, Duo Maxwell in Gundam Wing and Grumpy in Carebears: Adventures in Care-a-Lot. In his 20 plus years as a voice actor, Scott McNeil has voiced hundreds of characters.
    • Artist R.K. Milholland‘s webcomic Something Positive began in December of 2001 and has been going strong ever since. His website, www.somethingpositive.net is viewed by over 200,000 visitors a month and is well known for offbeat and acerbic wit.
    • Jill Tracy is both villainess and heroine of her own musical netherworld. The San Francisco-based artist has garnered multiple awards and a devoted following for her evocative cinematic music, sophisticated lyrics, old-world glamour, and curious passion for strange tales. Hailed by countless critics as a “femme fatale for the thinking man,” Jill Tracy was described by NPR’s All Things Considered as “utterly intriguing… luring you into a magical kingdom solely of her creation.” LA Weekly calls her “very distinctive and exciting.”
    • Based around sizzling gypsy violin and pounding drums, The Ghosts Project is Paul Mercer / Violin & Davis Petterson / percussion. An improvised music ensemble featuring a revolving lineup of special and unique musical guests, and is a favorite of dance troupes everywhere.

Other guests include Nathan Johnstone of Abney Park, Wendy Powell, Kent Williams, Rei Davidson, Chris Cason, Cassandra Hodges, Eric Vale, Clairine Harp, artist Amelie Belcher, and Master of Ceremonies Peter Pixie with demonstrations by Kojokan Shinbutai and cosplay/costuming guests Jenny Pennington, Beauty Thibodeau and AshuraCastle.
