From her blog at www.saramayhew.com
I’m a Canadian, born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, on July 16th. I grew up watching He-man and She-ra, Star Trek: TNG, and then went crazy for Star Wars in junior high. My highschool years was when I started drawing manga and watching anime. The first anime series I fell in love with was Fushigi Yuugi and have respected all of Yuu Watase’s work ever since. Some of my other favourite series are Rurouni Kenshin, Saikano, and NANA.
I graduated from Canadore College’s Graphic Design Production in North Bay, ON. In 2005, my early work of “Secrets of Sorcerers” was awarded “Best Comic for Teens” by the International Manga and Anime Festival. The prize money was invested in the production and printing and the Secrets of Sorcerers Volume 1 graphic novel. This past year, the Ontario Arts Council awarded me a grant to aid in the production of Secrets of Sorcerers Volume 2.

The Slants
"THE SLANTS are an Asian dance/rock band from Portland, OR. Formed in 2006, the band features members of The Stivs, Son of Rust, and Evening at the Black House.
Their music is a cacophony of melodic rock intricacy tempered by darker, dance themes with anthemic choruses and shattering hooks reminiscent of groups such as The Faint, Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, and Joy Division-except with an asian spin.
Perla Cadena of Sony BMG Music Entertainment claims,
"If you like danceable rock or anything Asian, you'll love THE SLANTS!"
--The Slants Website
The band is a great group of people, and we are thrilled to have them along for the ride. To find out more about them, please visit their website http://www.theslants.com. Read about them, listen to them, check out their videos, enjoy them!

Black Sheep Drive
The four members of Black Sheep Drive know music -- good music, to be exact. This young but talented band offers a rough, in-your-face sound, complete with heavy guitars and soaring drums, much like the works of other accomplished acts such as Flyleaf and Pat Benetar. However, there is a delicacy brought to the table by vocalist Sarah Dickenson, a sophomore at Broken Arrow North Intermediate High School -- her powerful voice adds depth and universality to this band's mature sound. Along with Sarah, guitarist Sean Fisher (Coweta senior), bassist Mike Usrey (Coweta senior), and drummer Detrick Carroll (Owasso freshman) have every intention of working together to give Tulsans shows they'll never forget. Don't let the name fool you -- there's nothing cute about Black Sheep Drive. No cute, just rock.

Amelie Belcher
Amelie "Ami-Chan" Belcher was born in Baton-Bloody-Boring-Rouge Louisiana where the combination of chemical plant fumes and river water did major damage to her fragile little mind at an early age. By all accounts, she started drawing at the age of five (when she figured out that the pencil goes on the paper and not up your nose) and didn't stop drawing until she ran out of paper...twenty years later. Amelie taught high school art for four years, but lost interest in teaching when it started cutting into her drinking time. She now travels the country selling her award winning art, doing on of a kind commissions for con goers, giving the best damn panels on earth, and being paid tribute by her army of fans known as the "Ami Army" in the form of Pocky and manga. known as "the angriest chick on the net", she is the creator of the popular web comic "The Real Life Adventures of Amelie" at Cordeval.com which is read by desperately bored people all around the world. |
