Cheeky Cheetah

My costume adventures started in 2014 and I have not stopped creating costumes since!

I got my start when my son came to me four years ago and wanted me to help him make a cosplay costume for Tokyo in Tulsa convention.  Not even knowing what cosplay was back then, I did some research, watched TONS of YouTube videos, started following some amazing cosplayers, and then jumped right in.  NEVER Looking BACK since!  And… before I knew it, I was completely hooked!

I do spend most of my free time building, researching designs, which are usually from artist concepts, popular comics, games, anime and movies.  I also love sharing my knowledge and techniques on my social media platforms as I build them, hoping to encourage and help others in their costuming journey as well.  To me, designing is a source of life and enjoyment.  I feel it is an art form in itself!

So, instead of playing games (because I stink at playing them, trust me), I try to bring the characters to life through my designs.  And I have a deep love for OC (Original Character) characters & designs, as this platform really gives people a way to do out of the ordinary creations, and do something no one else has done.

Outside of building costumes, I must admit I have a love for cosplay competitions!  The amazing talent in this cosplay community continually blows me away!  I always look forward to seeing what everyone has worked tirelessly to build.  I absolutely love taking time to visit, meet new people and GEEK out with anyone about costuming.  I have made so many great friends through cosplay!  I am forever thankful for this community, for my friends, and for this art form!

Included in this wonderful journey…. I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to be a featured Cosplay Guest and Cosplay Contest Judge at many conventions regionally.  Both of which I hold in high regard.

When I am not making costumes or preparing for conventions, I am highly involved with two local children’s charity organizations for which I dearly love!

To me, this is the most fulfilling thing I can do with my talents…  To bring a smile to a child’s face and to see them interact with our characters out of pure love, and joy.  That is the best feeling in the world!
